Sin City

The apocalypse – apparently scheduled for last Saturday at 6pm – flew by and I survived a weekend in Sin City without a major hangover. I’m not sure which one is a bigger feat.

Prior to the 6pm supposed deadline of my life, I made sure to pack in a few last suppers.

Started my looong weekend off right with a Pina Colada as I got some rays at the Wynn pool.

Don't be jealous.

Dinner the first night was at Dos Caminos at the Palazzo -- here we enjoyed Camarones Al Ajillo. It was essentially an amazing version of paella that had some great sauteed shrimp and chunks of chorizo in the rice.

Also munched on the Carnitas tacos -- nothing too special, but I did enjoy the cotija cheese.

Saturday lunch was at the Society Cafe at the Encore. This place was awesome. Not only did I pig out on pretzels as the complimentary apps, but here was my last supper lunch - "Sloppy Joseph" Sliders. The seasoning had a nice kick and was made with sirloin (not ground grocery store meat). And, I left with a craving for some homemade sloppy Joe's.

And, my last dinner was at SUSHISAMBA. Aside from the terribly long wait (I made reservations at 8 and didn't get seated until at least 8:40) the food was great, just a little pricey.

My fav? The Green Envy: tuna, salmon, asparagus, wasabi pea crust, aji amarillo-key lime mayo -- it had a nice bite to it and was different from my usual sushi order :)
